Bogor’s rain September 12, 2006

Today is a rainy day. Raining all day. It reminds me of my beloved homecity…. Bogor. Bogor is a rain city, why? oh well, because it rains almost all year round. I had to bring umbrella or raincoat everywhere because the rain is unpredicted. You can get out from the home in a hot sunny day and go home with the wet clothes and body. So, there you go.

Mud was my biggest problem. I don’t like muddy road/place. When I went to work, I always wore long pants and when the road was muddy, you can imagine how my long pants would like.

When I went home from work or from anywhere at night, I had to take an ‘ojek’ (motorcycle service) from the big road to my house, and all the way, I was wet….my clothes, shoes, bag….ohhhh….. I was so uncomfortable at that time and of course, I couldn’t use my umbrella for that. To bring a raincoat was a hassle for me too ;-)

I didn’t like the thunders and storms that come with the rain either. It scared me. I heard lot of stories about people who got strucked by the thunder, lightning and storms. Hiyyy……. so, to avoid that I had to spend long time on the shade somewhere waiting for the rain to calm down.

It was a hassle for me to travel anywhere in Bogor during rainy days. But now, I miss that. I miss being wet and cold on the rain. I miss running and jumping to avoid the mud and big hole full of water on the street, I miss taking ojek and getting wet all over my body… I miss my rain city.

Here when I see the rain…. those memories come again…. and I feel so homesick. Bogor is the best city for me… and always will be.

You’ll be missed, Mr. Irwin September 8, 2006

I don’t know him personally, but his shows have been giving me and my family the joy of looking at nature’s wildlife. The joy of looking at a person who was very caring and passionate to his environment, especially the wild one. He is a hero for me, saving the animals and caring for them so much, and it wasn’t just for showing off, but he could truly showed it from the bottom of his heart.

More of his death here

You will be missed, Mr. Irwin…. you touched so many people in the world with your way to reach out the wildlife world.

I surelly will miss you….very much. I still cannot get over that you has gone.

Rest in Peace, Mate….. Rest in Peace… You are with your Creator now…… Your journey and job are done in the world…. thank you.
Goodbye, Mate…. meet you somewhere in Heaven……….
