Phewwww…capek banget deh ah.

I am free to go.

Rasa senengnya belon kerasa…masih pusing aja bawaannya…..sigh….

Tidur dulu ah….;)

I sit here in front of the TV wacthing the game between Ohio State and Florida. Mostly Sam the one who is watching…I am just sitting here accompany him. I like football too sometimes but not too dedicated to watch the whole game, so I just grabbed my macbook and start browsing and writing.

It has been raining for the last three days. The boys and I have been staying home only. I have been not feeling to well to go out…mostly because I am sleepy and groggy because of the lack of sleep I have been having recently. I slept until 10 o’clock in the morning when my lovely boys ran around and played by themselves. That worked OK…but I am looking forward to the normal morning without sleepiness.

I am working on the trip planning. We are going to Indonesia as soon as River’s passport got corrected and we got our Visa from the Indonesian embassy here. I was very happy when we got our passport last week. I thought, wow, I could make the arrangement sooner, but then, I saw the printing error in River’s passport. His middle name which supposed to be Samudra was written Samundra. Sigh….small error but very fatal if you are going abroad. So, I called the passport service and sent the passport back to get it corrected. I am still waiting..hopefully will get here soon.

I am very excited about our trip to Indonesia. I am also sad that I will not see my papi….only his grave. I know that papi had visited us and see River. He hasn’t seen River when he was alive…..but I am sure he has now.

Oh well..another day with documentation and searching attempts. Thank God that we have reliable internet connection, make things easier, at least for me.

Will update later…have a good night, Everybody.

Epsom Salt January 2, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 5:17 am

I have been using Epsom Salt for relaxing in the bathtub. I got the idea from Shinta, my friend in Houston, TX. When I first tried, I felt the sting all over my body and I got out of the tub right away….but then I tried again the next week, and I just remained calm in the bathtub, soaked in the water (that already mixed with 2 handsfull of epsom salt), and it was so nice afterwards. I felt relax and comfortable. I slept easily and willingly…..

I use the Epsom Salt from Dr. Teal products
(picture is taken from HERE)
Thank you Shinta for the information…..

Here I got more information of how to use Epsom Salt (source: http://www.care2.com/channels/solutions/self/290).

3 Wonderful Ways to Use Epsom Salts
More Body Care Solutions

By Annie B. Bond, author of Better Basics for the Home (Three Rivers Press, 1999).

I always knew that soaking in a tub full of hot water with a few cups of Epsom Salts was good for relaxing muscles and drawing toxins from the body, but I could never find out why. And it wasn’t until I spent some time at the Epsom Salt Industry Council website that I learned that Epsom Salts — made of the mineral magnesium sulfate–are also a sedative for the nervous system.

Simple Solution:

When magnesium sulfate is absorbed through the skin, such as in a bath, it draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and much more.

EPSOM SALT TIPS
Adapted from the Epsom Salt Industry Council
Epsom Salt Council
Note: Check with a doctor before using if you have any health concerns.

* Relaxing and Sedative Bath: Soak in warm water and 2 cups of Epsom Salt.

* Face Cleaner: To clean your face at night, mix a half-teaspoon of Epsom Salt with your regular cleansing cream. Just massage into skin and rinse with cold water.

* Homemade Skin Mask: Apply the mask to damp skin. For normal to oily skin, mix 1 tablespoon of cognac, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of nonfat dry milk, the juice of 1 lemon, and a half-teaspoon of Epsom Salt. For normal to dry skin mix 1/4 cup of grated carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoons of mayonnaise and a half-teaspoon of Epsom Salt.

* Foot Soak: Soothe aches, remove odors, and soften rough skin with a foot soak. Add 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt to a large pan of warm water. Soak feet for as long as it feels right. Rinse and dry.

* Skin Exfoliator: Massage handfuls of Epsom Salt over your wet skin, starting with your feet and continuing up towards the face. Have a bath to rinse.

* Remove Excess Oil from Hair: Epsom Salt soaks up excess oil from hair. Add 9 tablespoons of Epsom Salt to 1/2 cup of oily hair shampoo. Apply one tablespoon of the liquid to your hair when it is dry; rinse with cold water. Pour lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar through the hair, leave on for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse.

* Hairspray: Combine 1 gallon of water, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 1 cup Epsom Salt. Combine, cover, and let set for 24 hours. The next day, pour the mixture into your dry hair and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then shampoo as normal.

* Hair Volumizer: Combine equal parts of deep conditioner and Epsom Salt. Warm in a pan. Work the warm mixture through your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse.

* Soak Sprains and Bruises: Epsom Salt will reduce the swelling of sprains and bruises. Add 2 cups Epsom Salt to a warm bath, and soak.

* Splinter Remover: Soak in Epsom Salt, it will draw out the splinter.
