Egg Hunts and the rest of Saturday March 31, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 6:11 pm

Today at 10:00 am we went to Messiah Lutheran Church for the children egg hunts event. We don’t have home church yet so we just go to church here and there. Anita asked me whether I could bring the boys on Saturday (today) for the egg hunts. I said, sure. So, we went there…just the tree of us.

The hunt started about 10:30 AM after praying. Jonah and River were very shy at first but got the hang of it soon. They looked for the eggs in the playground area. River was not very good at it, he kept being whinny. But that was OK.

After that we went to the big room and ate hotdog and chips..well, momma ate the hotdog the boys ate the chips…as usual…hehehehe..
Then we went home….momma still sleepy…hehhehe.

In the afternoon we were hungry. I didn’t cook anything. Then Sam got the idea to go to this nice chicken wings and sandwich place. But when we arrived there, they weren’t open until one hour later so we were looking for another alternative. Then because we were so hungry, we just went to Zaxbys, another chicken fried restaurant not to far from the original place. We ate and it was just so so. I am not a fan of chicken wings (buffalo style) anyway.

Tante Anita asked me also whether they could drop Meggy in our house when they went for the movie. Of course and we said that we will be home around 6:30 PM.

Then after eating, I got an idea to go to the Oriental Supermarket. This one is about 15 minutes driving (remember, in Madison/Huntsville, this distance is a long one….hehhehe). I went to the Asian Market by myself and Sam and the boys checked out the bicycle store just one block away. They like to go there and check out some bikes and test riding them…..hehheheh… good for them.
In the Asian Store I am nicely surprise with the fact that they sell Sosro Tea Bottle now…YYYEEEYYYYY!!!!
Before I had to go to Atlanta to get them….. oh Thank God.

After that we went home (it wasn’t easy to get Sam out of the bike store….;). We went home and waited for the De Jongs to drop their daughter.

Then the rest of the evening we spent by playing with Wilson and Meggy, Jonah and Meggy went to the guesthouse to check out the flight simulation Sam proudly set up, and when Anita and her husband came, we chatted a little bit and they went home.

I got this terrible swollen eyes because of the pollen. Oh…not comfortable at all…hope it will gone soon….hiks.

See ya Everyone….

Anger March 31, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 6:00 am

When we are angry, it is impossible to think correctly and rationally. What we are thinking is only how to put down the other people and make them listen to us.

Sometimes we regret things that we said when we are in anger. We just burst out stuff that we would have thought 100 times before we decided to say it. Anger is evil. Nothing good will come out from anger. Our mind is full of evil and negativity.

Mostly when we are angry it is very hard to hold back. We use the anger for the opportunity to let our things that we have been holding back.

Again, anger is evil. Evil used us for his purpose, to let down other people, to degrade other people, to make other people feel bad, etc. Nothing good come out of it.

Oh well…I am still working on managing myself not to get angry so quickly. It is not easy of course. So help me God.

Unconditional Love March 30, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 5:48 pm

This passage is from HERE

And I found it very thoughtful:

Many human beings say “I love you” one day and reject you the next. That is not love. One whose heart is filled with the love of God cannot willfully hurt anyone. When you love God without reservation, He fills your heart with His unconditional love for all. That love no human tongue can describe….The ordinary man is incapable of loving others in this way. Self-centered in the consciousness of “I, me, and mine,” he has not yet discovered the omnipresent God who resides in him and in all other beings.

—————

God, help me to be like You…to have unconditional love towards everyone and everything.

Easter is around the corner March 30, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 2:02 pm

Hmmm….Easter is around the corner….next week!. Wow, I remember back then when I was still in Indonesia and being a sunday school teacher was very exciting. My friends and I were busy arranging the Easter celebration, including eggs hunt, choirs, games and competitions, etc…. so excited.

Christmas and Easter are the two big events in our church. We were always looking forward to celebrate them.

Here? oh well… I am not active yet in the church. The boys will have the eggs hunt event next week and this Saturday in the De Jongs’ church (Lutheran Church).
It was nice of them to invite us to their church.

So, count down for Easter…… 8 days to go.

Groovy Friday March 30, 2007

Today is nice outside…but it is gloomy inside. What is the problem? hmm…it is kinda private.

The front and backyard look nice after the yard maintenance guys came over to trim all the bushes, grass, weeds…etc. Wow, they did a fantastic job. Nice… I like.

The pollen gets me every morning. I have to take Alevert to compensate that…or to avoid the further symptoms of allergy. The boys are fine, they are more though than us.

Today I just want to take it easy. No stress necessary…as always.
There is a lot of things to do, but by taking it slowly, I think I can get them all done well. Rushing just make me feel bad and things don’t go as they should.

Consignment time again..yippie…. March 30, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 1:37 am

Today, after I dropped the boys to their school, I went to this twice a year children consignment (www.klassykidsexchange.com). Last year I even volunteered and worked there for 6 hours and also became the consignor. This year I missed that opportunity because I didn’t have enough time to collect our ‘junks’ and put them there after got back from Indonesia trip. Well, Goodwill will be our next target to donate our unused/rarely used stuff.

I find it very wonderful that here we are able to exchange things that we didn’t use it anymore, sell them and get the money to buy other people unused stuff. I call it, money wisely spent. Because being a mom, I know well that the children only wear their clothes, shoes, etc…for a very short period of time. I used to buy everything new and sometimes they even didn’t have any chance to wear their new stuff. Children grow so fast, I tell ya.

The stuff in the consignment also very nice stuff. Mostly are branded names and in a very good condition (as per consignment regulation). We are not allowed to bring out of date stuff, torn, stained, recalled, smelt, etc.
Mostly I went there for the toys. I found nice toys for my two boys. If I buy them in the store, it would cost me a fortune. So, I am very grateful that they have this event. Helping the mother like myself who are very careful about spending money for the toys…;), any any other stuff. Not being cheap…but being wise about the money. Don’t you agree? hehehhee.

Space…… March 28, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 1:36 pm

We all need some space….for how long? as long as it takes.

Today is nice again…but since morning, I have been sneezing and having itchy nose…. hmmm…wonder whether the pollen got me. I have to take same Alevert then.
I hope I will be OK…as it is NOT fun at all when I am sick….everything is miserable.

Wilson keeps getting excited and pees in our bed and Jonah’s bed…… yuck.

Today we have to put him in his kennel again…wish us luck.

Off we go….see ya….

Nyobain Thai Charm di Highway 72 March 28, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 5:26 am

Hari ini anak2 masuk sekolah lagi setelah minggu lalu Spring Break. Kita bangun mayan pagi, jam 6:30.

Tante Anita dateng buat nunggu sampe waktu jemput Meggy.

Setelah itu kita dirumah terus… gue ga jadi ke gym. Biasalaaaahhhhh….

Babu? yeah….. March 26, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — annedowns @ 3:03 pm

Today is a very nice day outside. The weather is just right for us. NICE. Not sure what to do today except for daily activities like cooking, laundry, cleaning the house..oh well, some works that some people call it ‘ngebabu’.

Babu? hehhehehe… well, it is a term in Indonesian means ‘maid’. Sometimes I use it among friends to show that we are mother and housemaker… since we don’t have any maid or nanny here to help us out in the house, we do all the chores by ourselves.

Some ‘weird’ people translate the ‘babu’ term that we used here in the negative way. They are not clever enough to realize that we just used the term for fun, not for complaining. Those people are very proud of themselves of being the ‘gaul’ mom. Maybe because they didn’t have enough time to enjoying their single life before.

I don’t have any problem with people who wants to be so free outside their marriage life, it is all their business. But just one thing that I don’t like is, they consider other people stupid, not enjoying their life, not fashionable, not fun…. BULLSHIT.

I feel pity for them…. they don’t know what they say or think about other people yet they are very proud of it.

Being homemaker is an honor job for me. Raising my two boys, taking care of the family and the house, running errands and chores, taking care of family business, etc.
All teaches me to be more independent and self-educated.
I don’t need to go to school to prove that I am educated. I did get my degree and that is enough for me, so far I am not willing to continue to the graduate school. I am proud of my friends who are very success in their educational life. But for those who just take ‘whatever’ school/course just to brag to other people that they are educated….poohhh on them. I feel very sorry for them.
Some people are just very selfish and busy to pretend that they are ‘more’ than other. Get a life!
Not realizing that they have children and husband and house to take care of.

So, yes, I am very proud when people ask me what is my job…. homemaker, wife to my husband and mother to my children….

I am damn proud of it.
