Oh well, since Sam is from Indianapolis and he went to Purdue…so, he still has this tradition for watching the Indiana 500. This time, he shared it with the whole family. He divided all the drivers into 4 group…for Jonah, River, Sam and me… then we watched who was winning, etc…
Hmmm….I participated a little bit and went off to bed…hehhehe sorry, Hon….
PS: pictures were taken by me…mostly.
The boys, especially Jonah and Sam kept it up…. Good job, Guys…..
Note from Sam: please excuse my inappropriate underwear shirt…as my wife didn’t mention that it would be going public
(sort of…)

We started our morning by busy ourselves in our computer… Me with mine, Jonah with his in his bedroom and River borrowed my laptop for playing the pbskids.org.
So far Jonah and River like the computer very much (they are kinda on and off, but since they don’t go to school for a while, the computer is the prior alternative for their boredom release). Good for them…and momma too
Then I just took my time, cooking and eating…just usual stuff. The boys have been demanding food more and more.. It seems that they were always hungry. Especially Jonah. I think that what they call it ‘growing spurt’….
So, have to do more grocery shopping somehow..more food…
I made the batak food today, like grilled pork, cabbage soup and sambel andaliman. The recipes is from my MP friends…thank you guys. So, my lunch was a good one.
Num num…
And also, today I got the Elvis ‘That’s the way it is’ special edition DVD. Maybe some of my friends know that I love Elvis very much…along with the Gaither Homecoming collection that I have. I love gospel and especially I like Elvis better when he sang gospel. The way he sang it was so beautiful and touching.
And I found most of his backing vocals were from the gospel quartet, like JD Sumner and the Stamps, The Imperials, the Jordanaires, The Sweet Inspirations… and then those backing vocals group are gathered in the Homecoming concert/video led by Bill Gaither. Some of them already are no longer with us anymore. But their songs…always be in our heart. I have been collecting the Gaither Homecoming DVDs for two years… Their songs are always inspiring and everytime I watch their program, I feel like I am home.
So that is a good thing.
A slow day today….not much happening. Sigh…
I am busy myself with cleaning the floors and using the Photoshop CS. No luck so far as the book from Sam’s collection made me more confused, sigh.
So, I just learning by doing….
Here is an example…;)

The bored feeling continues in the afternoon, and for the rest of the afternoon. Not motivated to do anything…Thank God there were some leftover food for me, some boxes food for JR and Sam… there you go…and yes, also, dog dry food for Wilson…;)
Not sure what to expect..sometimes life seems full of uncertainty… today is one of those days….
Hope your day is better….
I loveeeeeeeee Michael English… Today his signature gospel song always sing in my ear, I Bowed on My Knees…
This is a video when he still sang with Gaither Vocal Band in 90’s.
He still young and his voice was so so amazing…. God’s given talent was used properly and still is, to praise God (check out his website on my Links)…….
Enjoy….
Today was a day full of activities… to me at least.
Since morning time I monitored the business side. And then I prepared lunch and had lunch with the kids. Then we went to the post office to mail some packages. After that we went to Walmart to buy MO and also get some plants and seeds. We also picked up some fertilizer and gardening tools for the boys. They seemed so excited to do the gardening stuff. I told them after taking a nap they got to be with poppa planting the plants and seeds. They were so OK with that and went for a nap right away.
Meanwhile, I cleaned the house and cooked (again) for dinner.
When the boys got up, and their poppa was home… they went to the backyard. They pulled out the weeds and unwanted plants…and re-done the soiled and put more soil in the plant bed, then planted the plants and seeds.
Here what we planted so far, tomatoes, pepper, cayenne, cherry tomatoes, lavender, eggplants, English daisies…hmmmm…carrots, lettuce..and so on…;)
It was a nice activities for them. The boys got to know how to plant the seed.
What a tiring day… of course I got to participate too…;)

I always like my husband’s photography… he has God’s given talent for that. You can see some of his work in Photography Review – Sam Downs
He likes taking pictures of nature…especially flowers. He got me this flowers for my Mother’s Day and took some pictures out of it.
Enjoy.

Happy Sunday, Everyone..
Today I woke up at 10:00AM… good God.
Well, I needed the rest…so here I am…;)
The boys were played by themselves and I could hear some occasional crying and yelling…but not too much.
Work it out, Boys..;)I made the Sambel Lado Ijo today… Hmmm..the process took the entire house to smell like pepper and everybody were sneezing…hmm…
Momma’s cooking..better be quiet not to comment anything.
The new neighbor is moving in today. Sam took the boys to say hi. I met the new owner several times and he is a nice guy.
I hope we can get along well.He has a small daughter..2 years old girl. Hmmm…soften up the boys, hey?
It took a picture of the neighbor house and the boys playing under the trees. Nice.
Wilson didn’t like it when he had to stay home. He was barking and being restless. I could understand that… he wanted to be included….
So, here is his face when he tried to go out but I said no.
I was not happy with the dishwasher machine today…half of my dishes didn’t get cleaned properly…hmmm
Something wrong with it? we’ll check it out..
Then we went out for ice cream and swimming after the boys got up from their nap. It was beautiful day today..wow…the weather was just so gorgeous. But the pool still was cold. So, the boys didn’t stay too long..only one hour long. Sam and me just watched them from the side.
I toweled the boys and Sam went to the kitchen doing some dishes. Nice.
Then after that he played checkers with Jonah. River as usual, momma’s boy, just lingering with momma on the bed..taking pictures of everything in his room, including me sleeping on his bed
but I was mistakenly erasing all the pictures from my camera, I am sorry River…. Then after that River and Sam went to the grocery store (Kroeger) to buy some snacks. Just a way of bonding with River. And they enjoyed spending time together. Jonah didn’t like it that much, he wanted to go to, but that was River’s turn. So, he stayed with me at home…just chatting, playing puzzle, etc…. Sam and River went home with lots of snacks (that what happen if he goes to the grocery store himself…sigh). But that is fine….
After that we just watching shows on TV together and ate snacks….hehehhe…just casual family time.
Hmm…it is me or it is true that the weekend comes so quickly these days?
It is weekend again….and boy… I am so sleepy and tired and lazzzyyyy
The boys are better these days by not waking me up in the morning with their demands anymore. They let me sleep until about 8:00 AM and then I make them breakfast.
When they wait for me to wake up…. they play by themselves or just playing with the computer… good deal!
Sam got up and was asking me what to do today. I said I wanted to go to the Asian Store in Memorial Parkway (the one with teh botol). So, we went there. As usual, he dropped me in the asian store and he and the boys went to the bike shop just two stores from the asian store. They like look at the bike and probably buy it..;)
But we decided it is not a good time to buy a bike…well $2000 worth of mountain bike has to be used …otherwise just wasting money.
After I got my groceries we just went home. The Jongs will come to our house at 5:00 PM for swimming gathering.. We like that just casual gathering. I cooked the dinner..and this time is gado2.
I was busy cooking and preparing the food since we got back from the asian store. The boys were sleeping (they are very good at that) and Sam as usual, watching…).
Then at about 5:30PM the Jongs came and went to swim in the backyard. Well, it was only three of them, Jonah, River and Meigy who swam…the rest of us just chit chat and eating…. well, the water was a bit cold…78F. So, no swim for the adult…. The boys and Meigy didn’t stay long either…got cold, hey?
After that we ate. They liked gado2….hmmm compliments for the chef.
We talked and the boys and Meigy played with their poppa. Nice for the ladies..no hassle.
During the afternoon River told story from his preschool book. It was so cute. He
asked Tante Anita to come to his room and read her a story. I grabbed the camera an take pictures of them.. nice.
So, that was the Saturday activities for us… Have a groovviieee Weekend…
